I am a board certified psychiatrist that specializes in working with adults in the La Jolla/UTC area. I have experience working with a wide range of problems, some of which include issues related to depression, anxiety, ADHD, low self-esteem, and difficulties in relationships, work, or school. I understand that each patient is unique, requiring an individualized approach to assessment and treatment. I strive to work with each patient in exploring the root of their difficulties and help with finding more adaptive ways to alleviate their suffering.

In addition to extensive medical and psychiatric training, I have advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. This approach allows me to work with patients in a deep, insight-oriented manner to help them gain awareness of self-defeating patterns or behaviors and ultimately change them.
My emphasis is on providing individual therapy with adults. When indicated, I will prescribe medications to treat particular symptoms, collaborating closely with the patient in this decision making process. Arash J.
